Although the odds were stacked against me, I managed to set up a successful floristry business while serving a sentence at HMP Holloway.
“I had a young family and was worried about what life would be like when I was released. I was determined to turn my life around, find a way to support my children and repay society in the process.
With the help of a loan from The Prince’s Trust, I set up Bloomin Scents, providing flowers for both Holloway and Pentonville prisons. The company has gone from strength to strength and now has an ever expanding customer base, including Dragon’s Den star James Caan.
Before setting up my company, I was struggling to find a purpose in life. Now I not only have a thriving business, but am actively giving something back to society. I am proud to employ other young offenders, teaching them new skills and giving them new hope for the future.”
