Frequently asked questions
How many runners enter the race?
We have a race limit of 1200 and we feel that the event will sell-out.
When should I enter?
As early as possible. Closing date for the event will be Monday 1st November 2010 for postal entries via entry form and Wednesday 3rd November for online entries.
How do I apply?
Enter online by clicking the link or by downloading an entry form on the right of this page.
Age Limit?
Runners must be 16 or over.
My friends have received their race numbers but I haven't got mine.
Race information and number will be sent from Monday October 8th onwards. If close to the event, please contact us immediately. If you've entered online you would have received a confirmation of entry email from us so don't panic, you are in the race.
I've received my confirmation email but not my race number
Wait until Monday 15th October if you've entered before our mailout date. If the pack still has not arrived, please contact us.
Lost number?
Contact us immediately - info@pineridgerace.co.uk
Your Address
Runners often say that they've changed address since entering or that they live in a huge block of flats and their post goes missing. Why not get your number sent to your workplace if that is more secure. If you change address after entering but before the info has been sent out, please tell us otherwise the info and number will go to the wrong address.
How fit do you need to be?
Fit enough to run a 10k on the road without stopping. Off-road running is always slightly harder than road running so you'll be fine to walk / run this if you can't make it all the way around.
What time should I arrive at the venue?
The race starts at 10:30am. You should get there at 9am. This will leave enough time to get parked up and allows you enough time to use the loos.
What to Wear?
Clothing
We recommend that you wear a synthetic T-shirt or long sleeve shirt on your upper body and shorts or possibly some running tights on your legs. The materials should ideally wick away sweat and keep you dry. Cotton is not good at this. Technical breathable fabrics are perfect for this event and are strongly recommended. Remember, when cotton gets wet it gets heavy.
Footwear
Off-road running shoes would be ideal for the terrain but road shoes are absolutely fine. For a guide to selecting trail running and training shoes, see www.shoeguide.co.uk
Results & Prizes
Results will be recorded and posted on the website as soon as possible after the event. Prizes are awarded on the day.
Errors
Unfortunately there are sometimes errors in the results; sometimes our fault, sometimes yours, e.g. a runner might be wearing someone else's number by mistake or there's been a human error inputting the data. If you feel that there is an error with your result, please contact us NO LATER than 5pm Tuesday 9th November. Results will then be deemed final.
Ill or Injured?
You should not run if ill or injured for your own safety. You cannot give your number to someone else in your place. This is for insurance reasons.
Refunds and Deferrals
Like all events, entry fees are used to hire land, equipment etc. Therefore, we do not issue refunds after entry. Entries cannot be deferred to the following year.
